'Hands-on' experience of one of the earliest methods of grinding can be had by using the Stone Quern. Several Lister stationary engines can be studied at close hand, these are put to use on certain occasions to demonstrate how, with the advent of the Industrial Revolution, machines were used in place of wind power to produce flour so necessary for our staple diet.
Many items of Industrial Archaeological interest can be seen including a Winnower, Thresher, Chaff Cutter and a Wire Dresser. Fine scale models of Nutley and High Salvington post mills, Shipley smock mill and the Jack & Jill windmills, are displayed along with many agricultural artefacts.
